I bought the white nylon and horsehair brishes in this smaller size because I am 1) only maintaining a couple pairs of skis and 2) this is my first foray into using a brush in the waxing process. As an old codger, I have always scraped and corked my wax, but I wanted to try the more modern methods and have watched the various online videos on the process. I should point out here that I don't use the flouro waxes yet and that may be a factor in your buying decisions. That said, I am not impressed with the white nylon brush as it seems too coarse, but the horsehair one really simplifies the post-scraping base finish. The only reason that I didn't give five stars is that I don't like the way the rectangular shape feels in my hand. 5 minutes on my belt sander made it much more comfortable for me to use. I think these brushes are a very good value, but if you are only going to have one, I'd suggest that you learn how to sharpen and use a scraper well and get this one.
