If you're eyeballing this drill bit things have probably gone a bit south! Hopefully this clever tool will solve your problem. Designed to remove broken binding screws and a bit of the surrounding material leaving a clean 8mm diameter hole, which just happens to be the perfect width for plastic or brass inserts! The bit is intended to be used with a binding jig, the diameter is such that it fits perfectly in the guide holes. Depending on the jig, the depth may also be controlled. This is a serious bit, it is entirely possible to drill through a ski if not careful! The bit has a tiny lip that indicates the correct depth for plastic or brass inserts, but it is easy to go past it with too much pressure.
