On the advice Jeannie Thoren at an indoor clinic some years ago, I advised my female students to try heel lifts. The concept is simple anatomy. The female achilles tendon is shorter so the calf muscle attaches lower on the leg. By the time she gets the boot buckled it pulls the heel off the floor of the boot and pinches the calf. Instead of buckling tighter, just lift the foot up to the boot with heel lifts. This also means buckling around a slightly smaller portion of the calf. Instant relief. Bootfitter’s aspirin.

Great fit. Too bad it doesn't have sticky base on the bottom. Had to glue them on myself.
