Product Overview
These drill bits are specially designed for mounting ski bindings. They ensure the holes are drilled at the correct diameter, and perhaps more importantly...at the correct depth. They fit any mounting jig, are a full 3" long, and will countersink the screw holes so you don't "bubble-up" the top ski surface when you tighten down the screw. The bits feature a pronounced lip which prevents the bit from drilling any deeper than it should. Bits are sold each.
- First number indicates diameter, second indicates depth.
- 3.5 x 9mm or 9.5mm you'll know if you need these.
- 3.6 x 9mm or 9.5mm bits are best for most adult alpine skis without metal in the ski.
- 4.1 x 9mm or 9.5mm bits are for most alpine skis with a metal or titanal mounting plate internally located in the ski.
- 3.5 x 7mm bit is for most junior alpine skis.
- Always defer to binding or ski manufacturer recommendations.

Very good results with nordic bindings. It is hard to do without these if you use a jig.

Mounted a pair of telemark bindings with these bits and they were very easy to use with an electric drill (freehand). I've since bought a drill guide to make it a little easier to drill perpendicular holes rather than reading the level as I'm drilling. On my Blizzard Bushwackers it took more effort than I was expecting to get through the metal topsheet in the binding area with the 4.1 drill bit, doesn't seem very sharp or I need to adjust my drilling speed some more. Once I got through the metal layer it went through the wood core very easily.

Not that it is horribly hard to limit depth while drilling a hole, these bits make it incredibly easy. Just punch down with a drill press until the flats contact the ski surface.

Takes the guesswork out of binding hole drilling! A drill jig keeps it plumb and is also highly reccomended.
