Use these self-adhesive foam rubber pads to create a more secure heel pocket and the take up volume on each side of the Achilles. If you are experiencing heel-lift these are great pads to try first.
- Firm 1/8" thick foam rubber resists compression.
- Backed with pressure sensitive adhesive.
- Adhere to the outside of the boot liner.
- Foam can be sanded and trimmed for a precise fit.
- 1/8" thick firm foam.
- Sold as a pair.
- Remove liners from boot.
- Make sure the boot liners are warm and dry.
- Slide foot into liner and locate ankle bones, marking their position on the outside of the liner with a pen or chalk.
- Remove foot from liner.
- Peel backing from pad, apply pad to the boot so the wings of the pad are positioned just below the ankle bone (the mark you made above). Wings should angle down.
- Press pad firmly to boot liner (some liners are more resistant to the adhesive, in this case you can use Duct Tape or Barge Cement to hold the pad in place).
- When sliding the liner back in the boot be aware that the pad does not catch on any part of the boot shell.
- Go ski!
- If you discover pressure points you can remove that section of the pad carefully with a sharp blade.

The pads are good quality. I used them to improve heal hold down on the XC boots. I had to trim and cram to get them onto my boot which is not designed to accommodate them, but I think it will work. The pads are just as described, flexible and easy to cut to shape. I’m also impressed the Tognar answers my email inquiry within a day and they care enough to ask for my review, even on a small item like this. Good company, good product.
They did work well enough, however, the one in my right boot came off pretty quickly and easily during the first day of use. I couldn't get it to stay put after it came off the first time.
The combo of my narrow but huge instep + a low heel/ ankle volume has made keeping my heel down in boots always tricky. These REALLY helped with that. Just know you're toes are going to be pushed forwards a little.
ive got the burton photon step-ons size 10.5 but not the ankles to match. i tried the burton J-Bars but they were to direct of a contact point instead of spread around so didnt work. added these and my heel locked in quite well. i do wish is was just a bit thinker though, two would be too much

My liner was getting packed out but these pads saved me the high cost of replacing them. It works to increase the space between the shell and the liner to add some compression to the ankle/heel area preventing heel lift. East to apply. For added insurance I use Barge boot cement to make sure the pads stay in place when removing liners to dry and reinserting afterwards.
I have always had problems with, what my husband calls, my "razor heels" in boots and sneakers. I was gifted a pair of really nice combat boots and had major heel movement when walking in them. I have tried other products from other places before and they never seem to actually work. I saw these and thought it might be a bit overkill since I'm not using them for skiing but thought, what the heck, I'll give it a try. I'm so glad that I did because they are perfect!! I can wear my boots all day while walking and they are still comfortable at the end of the day! These are an absolute game changer for me! I will definitely be buying more!
These totally solved the heel lift issue with my new ski boots. I was ready to give up on them, but with these pads they are now the best boots I've ever owned. The product shipped quickly. The pads stay stuck pretty well (heated them with a hair dryer first), but I covered them in duct tape just to be sure.
I have skinny heels and was having an issue with heel lift. These solved the problem — zero heel lift now.
