I use their Ski Sharp Edge tuning tool too. This Base Flattening & Structure tool is even easier to use that that one. Do read their web site's instructions - very helpful - before you start. It only took 2 or three passes (4-6 strokes per pass) down each ski to flatten and texture the ski. I used hardware store acetone to remove wax from base first. I'm a spring skier so I'm going to purchase the course texture stone.

I never liked stone grinds. They were expensive and frequently my skis were really difficult to ski on after a new grind. With this tool, I never go get grinds any more, my skis work really well, and I save a lot of money. I am really happy with it. I do like the coarse stone more than the medium, it does more work when needed.

Took a couple pairs of skis to get the hang of using this but once I did I'm happy with the results. I'm not trying to shave every tenth or hundredth, just want a ski that performs well. Definitely don't need to go beyond the medium grit stone unless you are removing a lot of material.
