Product Overview

The Swix T73D is a great choice for waxers looking to move from an analog to a digital wax iron. Digital wax irons use a microprocessor in place of an analog thermostat for temperature control and adjustment. The microprocessor is more accurate and reduces temperature fluctuations while waxing. The T73D features a whopping 18mm-thick aluminum base plate which is beveled on the sides and ramped in the back to make wax dispersion easier.

  • Manual dial adjusts for 80°C to 170°C operating temperatures.
  • Digital readout is in Celsius.
  • The base plate measures 160mm x 100mm x 18mm.
  • Cord length is 200cm.
  • Electrical rating is 120 volts and 850 watts.

A closer look at Base Profile:

If you take a close look at the base of this iron you'll notice that there are three distinctly different profiles to the base. This is one of those totally nerdy things that make this iron so cool. The front edge of the iron base is a 90°, straight angle, this is handy when you want to precisely bring hot wax right up to the kick zone or kick pattern of a pair of Nordic skis without going over. The rear edge of the base plate is ramped, this makes it easy to disperse wax without plowing into it, it is also essential for ironing in HF powders...if you're into that kind of thing. Finally, both side edges of the base are nicely beveled, this makes it easy to disperse wax and travel across fresh wax (e.g. on the second pass) without plowing it up. Pretty cool huh?

    Swix T73D Digital Wax Iron

    Posted by JP on Apr 22, 2020

    I bought this iron to replace a low-cost iron that I have been using for some years now., it works. I hesitated because we all know that spending more doesn't always get you more,. In this case, everything about this iron is better.
    Let me count the ways;
    1) the base is flat -really flat
    2) the temperature is even -all over the base
    3) it feels good in the hand.
    4) the temperature control is to die for. No more guessing or tedious measuring. Dial up your Temp. and it goes to and stays there.

    The old iron is now the new iron for skin re-glues

    I'm not a pro, I only do a handful of skis per week but I should have bought this Iron in the first place.
