Product Description
These drill bits are specially designed for mounting ski bindings. They ensure the holes are drilled at the correct diameter, and perhaps more importantly...at the correct depth. They fit any mounting jig, are a full 3" long, and will countersink the screw holes so you don't "bubble-up" the top ski surface when you tighten down the screw. The bits feature a pronounced lip which prevents the bit from drilling any deeper than it should. Bits are sold each.
- FOUR OPTIONS AVAILABLE (first number indicates diameter, second indicates depth)
- 3.6 x 9mm or 9.5mm bits are best for most adult alpine skis without metal in the ski.
- 4.1 x 9mm or 9.5mm bits are for most alpine skis with a metal or titanal mounting plate internally located in the ski.
- 3.5 x 7mm bit is for most junior alpine skis.
- Always defer to binding or ski manufacturer recommendations.

Drill bit
Works great! The step keeps you from drilling too deep and helps you have a clean flat surface to mount to.

alpine binding drill bit
My first occasion to mount alpine bindings, so I thought I should get the proper, albeit expensive, drill bit, but much cheaper than the $50.00 the ski shop wanted to mount the bindings. The bit worked well with no damage to the ski. Remember to use the 4.1mm size rather than 3.5mm if the ski has a carbon or other metal laminate.

Great bits, rust easy though
Great bits, obviously must-have for mounting plates and bindings, but they do rust easily, compared to other bits.

Great bit!
I received a Wintersteiger branded bit. High quality tool steel, nice stuff.

Right tool for the job
Mounted bindings for the first time and this bit made it hassle free (apart from the measuring). I used the 4.1mm variant for skis with metal topsheets. Drilled cleanly through the metal, which I then tapped with another little tool from Tognar. Definitely use a nail or punch to make an indent where you intend to drill so that the bit doesn't wander.

Makes quick work of mounting an AT Binding
Besides being quick it also is really easy to be very accurate and dead-on. I used it with Tyrol Ambition 12 bindings on Ramp Skis.
