How much wax do you need?
It takes about 12-15 grams to hot wax one pair of alpine skis, or one complete snowboard....which means a 100 gram wax pack is good for about 6-8 hot wax applications. If you don't hot wax, but rub on the wax (like a crayon) and cork it in, you'll get many more applications, but it will wear off your base faster. We usually recommend hot-wax applications of universal and hydrocarbon waxes (and low-fluoro waxes if possible) to create a base-layer 'foundation'...and then rubbing fluoro waxes atop these.

RACE SERVICE BASE PREP WAX
This is one of the smoothest and silkiest base prep waxes available. Its deep-penetrating properties make it ideal for ‘hot-scraping’ new ski or snowboard bases, or cleaning and prepping any base after a new stonegrind. This cleaning technique removes dirt, old fluoro wax residue and preps bases better than any other method, so use these waxes liberally in the process. Two base prep waxes are offered…the regular formula works with any base, while the graphite formula helps enrich and replenish black (graphite) bases.130 grams.

RACESERVICE BASELINE HYDRO WAX
These temperature-specific hydrocarbon base waxes are ideal for recreational riding, or as race wax in low-humidity/moisture snow condition. They also serve as a good foundation wax under any fluorocarbon waxes or overlays. 130 grams.

RACE SERVICE 1 ZUPRTOUR RUB-ON WAX

This handy fluro-polymer wax has a broad temperature range, 10 to 32F (-12 to 0C), is dead simple to apply and is excedingly fast! It's great on the race hill as a second-run prep. or in the backcountry when the snow gets slow and sloppy. The compact reusable case measures just 1 7/8" wide and 1" deep but contains enough wax for up to 30 pairs of alpine or 50 pairs of nordic skis. To apply the wax simply rub-on and polish with the felt pad attached to the case, or use a larger hand block for more efficiency. 30 grams.
