Hertel’s Racing Fluorocarbon 739 wax was developed way back in 1986 and has been winning races, at all levels, ever since. The formula is designed to excel in all temperatures and all conditions from icy cold to water ski warm. Racing 739 utilizes a unique wax formula developed by Hertel (158 Flex) that allows the wax to match the flex of any ski, this keeps wax in the base, where it belongs, and greatly increases wax durability, up to 7-days is the claim.

Excellent stuff here! Was amazed at performance at both low temps -5°F and high temps +47°F. Did show a bit of wear after 7hrs at higher temps (hospital ice/mashed potato snow) but this is pretty much normal. Applies a bit differently - doesn't flow as smooth as traditional non-flouro waxes and requires more work to scrape/polish - but in the end it is totally worth it.
We're just all mountain skiing and this wax does the job every time...I don't have to worry about temps and other criteria...i use it all season!
This is, by far, the fastest wax that money can buy. I've been freeriding for decades, and I've tried everything else on the market. I like to go fast- the faster, the better. About 5 years ago, I decided to try Hertel's Racing 739... I figured that anything intended for the "racing crowd", might be the way to go. And sure enough, this stuff goes...! Having used it for freeriding, I no longer consider this "just a race wax"- but rather, an excellent all-temperature, go-anywhere, and do-anything wax. Do yourself a favor, and give this a try.
We went through 5 days on one wax job; great stuff
I have used FC739 exclusively this season. Here on the Ice (East) Coast, conditions change often from hard, cold groomers in the morning to soft, warm slush later in the same day. Trying to nail-down the right wax used to be a chore as Euro-wax companies have so many choices, each one with such a tight temperature range. With the FC739, I felt absolutely no change in glide, morning to afternoon or even shade to sunlight in the same run. It outperforms any universal wax on the market.
This wax is the by far the best I have ever used. I recently waxed before a 3 day trip and did a total of 27 runs (some 5k +). The 739 lasted all 3 days and I could not tell much difference in wear. I likely could have gotten another day of skiing before needing to re-wax. Another review on this page says it isn't "very durable" - this is likey due to them mixing the 739 with another wax (moly) - Hertel's webpage specifically says not to mix the 739 due to the chemical compounds in the wax. Overall I highly recommend this wax - it is all I will ever use.
great wax, used for years, glad you carry it,
The wax was very fast in the morning and seemed great, but I noticed around lunch time that they were slowing down. By the end of the day, my bases were dry and felt like an un-waxed ski. This was on an average day ~32 degrees partial sun on a 100% man made base...I used a LF moly additive with this is as well.
This is probably a fantastic wax for the price if you are looking for a real racing wax, but for me it didn't have the durability I was hoping for.
After years of measuring snow temps for the right wax on the kids racing skis, this wax rocks. Now dear old Dad passes em all up regardless of temp with my "secret sauce " and of course a little extra holiday "ballast" at my disposal....
