Tungsten carbide files are amazingly sharp and leave an incredibly smooth finish. They are more costly than a standard file but the cost is partially offset by their longevity, they stay sharp a good long time.
The 3216 features two small tungsten files per side, attached to an aluminum plate. This reduces the cost of the file with very little reduction in performance.
The aluminum plate measures 25mm x 70mm.
Designed to fit any tool that will accept 70mm inserts, like the MTK 701 or use with any fixed-angle side bevel guide.
Tungsten carbide files are more brittle than standard files, so take care to remove major burrs (caused by rock damage, etc.) prior to filing to avoid damage to the teeth.
